There are various hiking and biking trails in the vicinity of the hotel and you can rent mountain bikes for a fee at the reception. Mountain bike rental at the hotel is open every day during the summer season. Trekking poles are an essential tool for hiking. Hotel guests can rent them for a fee at the hotel reception.
In winter you can use machine-groomed trails for cross-country skiing and smaller downhill slopes (in Nový Jimramov, the nearest is in Svratka, about 6 km, and there is a chair lift in Nové Město na Moravě).

The undulating landscape with a variety of exciting cultural and natural targets a clean natural environment of region offers very good conditions for cycling. There are 160 km of marked routes that linked both to the existing road network with an asphalt surface, and the local road leading very busy and scenic Zdarske Hills.
Mountain bike rental at the hotel is open every day during the summer season. Bicycles can be rented on an hourly basis or the whole day.

In September 2014, were opened to the public specialized mountain bike trails – singletrack. They are located in the forest Ochoza. You will find routes of various difficulty levels – technically easy, fun and safe routes for children or handicapped trails that are passable in a wheelchair.
Simultaneously there are also very challenging trails for experienced bikers, that its difficulty based on current trends, the construction of tracks in the World Cup mountain bike.

Orea Hotels & Resorts – your family holiday in the Czech Republic
Your children won’t get bored with us. There is plenty of entertainment for them. We have prepared a lot of creative games and tasks for them in our Children’s Club. And we have thought of adults as well. There are sports activities and competitions for them. What you choose only depends on you and your children.
In summer (1. 7. – 31. 8. 2020) the Children’s Club is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In the spring, from 1 April to 30 June 2020, and in the autumn, from 1 September to 31 December 2020, there are animation programmes for your children every weekend.
During spring and autumn it is open on certain Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and then between 3 and 6 p.m. The evening programme starting at 7 p.m. features Disco Games with Eliška the fox.

Get to know the vicinity of the resort, which is situated in the beautiful area of Ždárské vrchy (Žďár Hills). Climb to the top of Devět skal (Nine Rocks) or visit Pernštejn Castle. Another magic place is St. John Nepomuk Pilgrimage Church on Zelená hora.
It is the highest peak in Zdar Peaks (Zdarske vrchy) with the range of peak rocks close to the Milovsky pond. Devet Skal is a protected natural formation with limited mountaineering activity.
The Japanese Garden was established in 1996 by Mr Šimon and covers an area of about 70 x 80 m. The Japanese style contrasts nicely with the landscape of the Highlands. The distance from the hotel is about 4 km.
An art gallery dedicated to the artists of the Czech-Moravian Highlands (app 4 km from the hotel).
These are the other peaks of Žďárské Vrchy and are gneissic rock formations, some of them are suitable for climbing. All rocks are accessible through marked tourist routes with the starting point at Milovská Restaurant. The trail-head with a map is located by the bus stop.
Ves was established in 1727 when the area prospered thanks to the exploitation of iron ore. It is a collection of rural buildings which is among the most valuable treasures of vernacular architecture. Distance from the hotel is about 6 km.
There’s a built short undemanding nature trail with fifteen stops. All the buildings are still inhabited and all objects are used. The village has 24 permanent residents and further extend, so the new construction does not interfere with the original character of the village.
The statues are located in Žďár nad Sázavou and surrounding villages: Hamry nad Sázavou, Obyčtov, Poděšín, Polnička, Račín, Škrdlovice, Tři Studně. These are concrete or sandstone statues larger than life, which are sensitively integrated into the landscape. The closest statues are in Výr by Tři Studně (app 9 km) and Hraniční kámen by the Pilská reservoir in Ždár nad Sázavou (app 25 km from the hotel) with the statues of the Eagle and Lion.
The Pilgrim Church of St John of Nepomuk at Zelena hora (Green Hill) was built between 1719 and 1722 according to the plans of Jan Blažej Santini Aichl from the initiative of Vaclav Vejmluva, a significant abbot of the Cistercian monastery. The church is one of the supreme pieces of Baroque Gothic in Europe. The pilgrimage site was added to UNESCO Heritage List in 1994. The Pilgrim Church of St John of Nepomuk at Zelena hora was returned to the property of the church – The Roman Catholic Parish of Zdar nad Sazavou II in August 2014, after a long period of 50 years.
Exceptionally well-preserved medieval castle was the base of the Lords of Pernštejn.
The Horácká Gallery in Nové Město na Moravě resides in a former renaissance chateaux on Vrastilav Square, which was built at the end of the 16th century by Vilém Dubský of Třebomyslice. The chateaux building was damaged and repaired several times during the subsequent centuries, and its current neo-renaissance appearance dates back to 1874.
The Horácká (Highland) Gallery was founded in April 1964. The first exhibition spaces were located on the second floor of today’s Town Hall, the permanent exhibition was installed in two halls of the Nové Město chateaux. In 1972 the Gallery gained the entire chateaux premises for its purpose. Today, the significance of the Horácká Gallery exceeds the borders of the Highland region.
The Gallery focuses on documenting the work of the most significant artist of the Highland region within the context of other Czech art. Extensive collections from the legacy of artists such as Jan Lauda, Josef Mařatka, Vincenc Makovský, Ladislav Martínek, Karel Pokorný and Jan Štursa were bequeathed or donated to the Gallery. The collection includes factory glass from the 1960s and 1970s, made in the famous Škrdlovice Glassworks near Žďář nad Sázavou.
The monastery’s history began to be written as far back as the mid-1200 when Cistercian monks founded a monastery in the deep woods of Žďár.
Unique project Hell grew in the forests of Čertovina near Hlinsko.

We have prepared some information for you about the possibilities of cross-country and down-hill skiing within 25 kilometres of the Orea Resort Devět Skal.
In the vicinity of the Orea Resort Devět Skal you can go skiing in the following ski centres: Ski Areál Jimramov (about 11 kilometres away), Ski Areál Svratka (about 6 kilometres away) and Ski Areál Harusák (18 kilometres away). In Jimramov ski centre you can use a 600-metre ski slope with an elevation difference of 90 metres. Another tip is the ski slope in Ski Areál Svratka, whose parameters will satisfy children and beginners as well as demanding skiers. Its elevation difference is 82 metres and its length is 400 metres. The third option is Ski Areál Harusák, whose slope on Harus Hill (Harusův kopec) is 550 metres long and its elevation difference is 110 metres. The upper cableway station is situated at 734 metres above sea level. The Leitner S2 cableway of 490 metres in length transports up to 1,400 persons per hour. The slope is covered with artificial snow by modern snow guns throughout the season and groomed by Kässbohrer PB 300 snowcat. The whole slope is lit, so you can enjoy night skiing as well. There is also a surface lift for children with a ski school next to it. The cable is 30 metres long and it can be found just under the cableway station.

There are opportunities for cross-country skiers, too. There is a cross-country skiing track near Nové Město na Moravě, which consists of two sections: the first one, U Medinu, is 2.2km long and the following section, around Brožkův vrch, is 1.8km long. The track is groomed for both classic style and skate skiing. The other cross-country skiing trails are groomed once or twice a week, especially before weekends, but only for classic style.
